The was a rather ominous warning sign, posted on a door next to our hotel room in Beauvais, France. I think I'll steer clear of that room.

This alien-looking tower is a common sighting in rural France. We're not sure if it's a telephone tower, or a lookout spot for crops or weather, but they're interesting

John caught this guy outside the Bayeaux hospital, after Whitney's incident. He's clearly a patient, in his hospital-issued robe, smoking a cigarette two yards outside the hospital doors.

Mistletoe
It seems that mistletoe infects ALL the trees in the northwest French country. Whitney has always thought that mistletoe, although lovely and whimsical, actually strangles the branches of a tree and therefore killing it. Yet, all the trees we've seen with mistletoe seem to be just fine. John Love, what's the story?

Changing speeds
On the highway from Normandy to Paris, we noticed that the speed limits are set for weather... 130 kph for dry weather, and 110 for rain. Makes sense.

This is an outdoor kiosk in the Marienplatz shopping district in Munich Germany. Presumably, it ads for a wig shoppe. I saw this and said to myself, "Hello, ladies."

In Munich, this large ship model is warliy perched atop a building roof near the ice skating rink

Bike Path sign
John loved this sign. Salzburg not only enforces child safety, but also encourages family values

Also in Salzburg, this grouping of signs imply a number of things, but the motorcycle rider especially caught our attention... the scarf is flying, and the rider is hunched over -- are we supposed to race motorcycles down this street???

The oversized public chess board created a crowd in Salzburg. Whit had never seen anything like this and thought it was so adorable and unique, until John says, "You mean just like the one at the Sandals resort in Jamaica?" Aw, man!
-
Mozart kitsch
The kitschiest of Mozart kitsch in Salzburg - a porcelain figurine of a monkey dressed like Mozart. Now, that's just taking it too far, don't you think? And, yes, this is a famous line of porcelain, and it's quite expensive.

A Viennese butcher window featured this bin of game rabbits for sale. Still intact with teeth and eyes, we were both horrified and fascinated. Sorry if you've thrown up in your own mouth a little bit by looking at this.

In Sicily, near the shoreline. Odd.

Off the train platform in Vienna we spotted this guy. Do you think he's a musician?!?!?!
-
dsc00419.jpg
This is a knife block that is all-the-rage in Europe. We've seen this knife holder at kitchen and home decor shops all over Bavaria. Intimidating, I think.

A sign in Vienna to indicate that the street is pedestrian-only. But, it kinda looks like they're on a bad date, no?
-
Same scarf
We saw this guy near the Coliseum in Rome. He has the same H&M scarf as John - which Whitney has used as a beacon of recognition in big crowds. When she saw this guy and realized that his face didn't match her husband's, we had to take a photo
