On a trip like this, lugging your precious belongings around in a cramped case, packing and unpacking every three days, you're bound to have a few things go missing....
- John's iPod headphones broke, so they're as good as lost: somewhere in France
- Lucky for him, Whitney specifically packed another pair of headphones, just in case 'someone' would break or lose theirs. Now that's planning.
- Whitney's fold-up travel toothbrush: Paris, France
- John's multi-colored plaid scarf: Beaune, France
- John's German dark green courduroy hat that we bought in Munich: Rome, Italy (Perhaps is was THE suggestion of losing it that actually made it happen!?!)
- John bought a new pair of sunglasses at a surf shop in Muizenberg, near Cape Town. Within 7 days, they broke at the hinge and were promptly replaced by a pair purchased at a truck stop outside of Johannesburg
- Whitney's watch went missing in Sydney. We think it was left at the top floor pooldeck, where she had taken it off for fear of a suntan line. No matter she wears 70+ sunblock...
- John's sunglasses from the truck stop outside Johannesburg went missing along the West Coast of New Zealand. Replacements yet to be purchased.
