And this sitting area with a huge fireplace serves as another double bed when more guests stay here. We used it as the will-you-get-away-from-me-for-a-few-minutes-for-Pete's-sake area.

The compact little kitchen reminded me of our Manhattan apartment, complete with under-counter refridgerator. We LOVED having a kitchen -- our own breakfasts, a few dinners at home and endless cups of tea made us feel right at home (and saved us a bunch of dough)!

Modern Decor
Although an old building, Sylvia (the apartment's owner) has the penthouse decorated with an eccelctic mix of modern furniture and art

A good shot of the mountain-side that the buildling is constructed into. You can see the beams that have been imbedded into the rock.

John at the computer. Wifi in the apartment was a Godsend for us... We could catch up on blogging, do our online business and make a few calls on Skype

The Bathroom!
It doesn't photograph nearly as beautifully as it appears in person.... The bathroom is literally carved into the side of this mountain. The bathtub is enormous, and the floor has radiant heating! Heavenly.

The front door to the buildling must weigh 100 lbs. The building is very old, and we loved coming back here everyday, feeling like a local.

The apartment is situated in a little plaza off a main street near this gothic church. The bells were a little loud for us, especailly when they rang and rang and rang on Sunday!
