Our mint apartment is up there in the complex of silver roofs. Being at the top of the hill provided great views.

This is the view from our 1st floor living room, with Queenstown's main street and Lake Wakatipu. Did we mention our apartment is a 3-bedroom duplex?!?!?! Yeehaw.

Night 1 in Queenstown, we were referred to a little bar called Monty's where we met this sweet bartender, Eliott from RENO who went to MIT! Everyone sing it with me: "It's a small world afterall...."

Also at Monty's we talked to Gabriel from Ireland, who had once RV-ed through the United States with friends. His best line was, "Once we broke down in a place called Jamaica, New York. I didn't know there was such a place! A young kid offered to replace our radiator for $20, then we saw that he was stealing another radiator to put into our RV!" What a hilarious story, especially with the Irish accent...

One of those silly signs at the parking lot of freaky Canyon Swing, customed for fear-filled patrons

Our first glimpse of the Canyon Swing jump platform was an intimidating sight....

In Whitney's head: "Oh my God... Oh My God... Oh My God... Oh My God... Oh My God... Oh My God... Oh My God... Oh My God... Oh My God... Oh My God..."

After the jump, the nervous energy is channeled into grateful hugs to the instructors (aka Torturers)

In Whitney's head: "I can't believe I'm not dead... I can't believe I'm not dead... I can't believe I'm not dead... I can't believe I'm not dead... I can't believe I'm not dead... I can't believe I'm not dead..."

On the other side of the canyon, hikers watched us plummet. They are so small, they're little dots of color on the rugged landscape.

The tension in John's face is so intense....
-
dsc03498.jpg
There's still time to reconsider, Johnny!

On the edge.... Holy &#%!

Cheery remnants from our Canyon Swing experience - drawings on our hands representing our order in which the group jumped. John had a kiwi bird.
-
dsc03528.jpg
Whit's hand drawing was of the green mountains with a strange red blob at the bottom... a bloodied woman whose bungy cord snapped?! OMG.

The adrenaline from the Canyon Swing prompted a spontaneous (yet much-needed) haircut.

dsc03465.jpg
Let's face it, the black roots were getting pretty serious

dsc03504.jpg
We asked for a quick mowhawk before it was all shaved off...
-
dsc03505.jpg
It's very 'Mad Max," isn't it?

-
dsc03508.jpg
Rock and Roll, mate!
-
dsc03509.jpg
...And the mowhawk is gone. EVERYTHING is gone!
