Ahhhh! The gorgeous Atlantic Ocean. Our Dec 26 arrival provided AMAZINGLY hot weather and we enjoyed the sea breeze near Cape Town's waterfront

John poses with Table Mountian, the iconic image of Cape Town, and landmark which hovers above the waterfront

At an outdoor pub & grill when we just finished paying the bill and figured that we paid $25 for two meals and three large beers. For New York City standards, that's very cheap!

This one is for our friend John Love, an amateaur arborist. And no, we weren't in a windstrom when the photo was taken. This is how it grows....

At the Cape Point Park, there are two eateries, a snack bar and this cliffside restuarant, aptly names Two Oceans.
-
dsc01727.jpg
All the wildlife seem to flock to Two Oceans for generous patrons who give scraps of food. This bird was patiently waiting for us to leave our table scraps for him. Sorry, buddy, we don't feed the wildlife!

A lovely German tourist took this photo as we climbed down to the Cape of Good Hope

It was somewhat strange to see penguins without any hint of snow, or even cold weather. The African penguin is a protected species and only lives on the Southern coast of South Africa.

We took this shot at Balder's Beach, on the drive back to Cape Town

Along the Table Mountain National Park, these are the peaks facing the Atlantic Ocean called the Twelve Apostles.

dsc01758.jpg
No, this is not a postcard photo - we took this from the road along Camps Bay
-
dsc01763.jpg
We sat at this sushi restaurant at Camps Bay and watched the HUGE waves crash at the beach across the street

Timour Hall, the amazingly beautiful IPA villa where we did NOT stay, unfortunately.... But we thank Deon, Chris and Jo, the villa staff for setting us up at the "Grandma House" very nearby.
-
dsc01717.jpg
This is "Grandma's House." Although dated and without a shower (bathtub only), we spread out and enjoyed ourselves!

dsc01719.jpg
Grandmas' guest room.... When I graduate from Interior Design school, this house will be my first re-decorate project!
-
dsc01722.jpg
It was nice to have our own kitchen and go to the grocery store for our own things... We made dinner a few nights and ate breakfast at home. How nice!
-
dsc01721.jpg
The pink & seafoam green bathroom was very cheery. Unfortunately, no shower. So we took bath and used that pitcher to rinse every day.

Our bedroom, which faced the sunny backyard, where we hung clothes on the line to dry and had a BBQ one night!
