Guestbook

With the hope for friendly correspondence between our family and friends, we've included a Guestbook to our site.  We look forward to reading your thoughts, recommendations and ideas, and we'll be getting back to you soon!  (You must enter an email address to comment, so we'll be able to get back to you that way.)
We offer this Guestbook with some reservations...  Please keep in mind that many of those reading this site are family members, including children under the age of 10.  The expectation is that all posts are G-rated, respectful and, above all, nice.  Thanks!  - John and Whit

Sawubona, Goeie More, hello...

It was excellent to have a laugh with fellow intrepid adventurers over dinner at La Perla in Sea Point - we loved the badge Jack, we've never met a real (albeit retired) American cop!!!!
If you ever return to our sunny and windy shores or your friends are inspired to follow in your footsteps please look us up as we can certainly offer an upgrade on Plumstead, reliable internet link up, and local tourist advice (altho you might need to rely on outside sources for the night life on Long Street).

Have fun on your safari....

Hamba Kahle (go well) Sala kahle (stay well)

Lots of love Shelley and Scott, (Finn and Jemima - the 2 absent blondies)

ps:Whitney you could patent that little bleach pen of yours out here

Whit! Love the hair. Really love the hair. You did an awesome job. You would be beautiful no matter what color your hair was or if you had none at all!

XOXO

Miss you more than I can say.

Whitney and John--

Just finished catching up on your trip--and we are both very hungry. Should have eaten lunch first!

So great to see you and see how much fun you are having.

We miss you and look forward to having you back. Hope 139 Lexington is not too tame for you--but Helen and I will work on an exciting return. That should scare you!

Love you lots.

Hallo Whitney and John.

Frohe Weihnachten und einen guten Rutsch ins Neue Jahr.
We wish you marry Xmass and a good start in the new year 2008. We are in Salzburg now and I will enjoy the cold weather until Fasching in Feb. It is beautiful, blue sky and sunshine and freezing cold. :)
Have a lot of fun at the rest of your long trip. I will go and check out den wilden Mann. A restaurant where I never have been.
Liebe Gruesse

I don't ski, so I cannot comment, but that J. Love has still got it. I don't care what anybody else says.

Whitney, please keep up with Odd Sightings/Good Food/Things We've Lost. The students love it.

Missing you (Whitney...)

Whitney, Jillian said she would give you ski (or board) lessons when you got back if you are interested. Can't believe John hasn't been skiing before us this year. That's just not right. P.S. Mistletoe is a parasite that lives off the host tree. When overgrown it could kil the tree but that is extreme. It will usually just stunt the growth of the host tree. Birds eat the mistletoe seeds and spread it to other trees when they wipe their beaks or poop (language approved for all audiences) on a branch. The seeds are very sticky so they stick to the branch. Happy Trails

I'll make you your favorite REAL meatloaf in March! But in the meantime....yes, try all those different things to eat, but you might want to stay away from organ meat and insects...:)

Kids,

Don't forget to pick up my gift before heading to Austria. It should say:

Mein Freund ging nach Deutschland und alles, das ich erhielt, war dieses miese T-Shirt.

W & J,

Before you depart Switzerland, be sure to visit the Crooner's Museum, solely dedicated to one of the founding fathers of the country, Carl "Alfalfa" Switzer, who gave the country it's name (and a heckuva lotta laughs, from what I've heard...).

Love,

Waldo

Hi John and Whitney!

We're keeping up with your trip via your site and enjoying following your progress. Sad not to have seen you again in London; are you passing through again on your way from Europe to Africa? Email us and let us know.

Happy Thanksgiving for Thursday! Hope you manage to find yourself a turkey in Switzerland. Might have to be a fondue instead though.

Love from Lee and Stace x

I love the "extras". The odd sightings are hysterical!!

John - I'm sorry to hear that your iPod headphones broke. That really stinks.

Your website is so awesome. If the writers strike is over when you get home - you should start writing for TV. You two could totally be a TV sitcom with your adventures. (Remember who suggested that when you are living the high life!!)

Love ya, Mean it!

I am so impressed with both the website and the trip in general! So few couples get to do what you are experiencing overseas for such an extended length of time. We all miss you here.
Sorry we will not meet up in Paris in early December, as I can see your itinerary has you moving on during that period. Perhaps my travels for France Telecom will take me someplace else to meet us with you two.
Be safe!
